Cooperation Agreement Between Agricultural Relief and the National Carton Industry Company to Develop Agricultural Product Packaging

Nablus – April 14, 2025

The Agricultural Development Association (Agricultural Relief), represented by its General Director Mr. Munjed Abu Jeish, signed a cooperation agreement with the National Carton Industry Company, represented by its General Manager Eng. Abdelnaser Dwaikat, with the aim of producing specialized carton packaging for grape crops. This initiative falls under the project titled “Enhancing Resilience and Improving Livelihoods of Farmers and Communities Vulnerable to Climate Change – Grape Value Chains,” funded by the World Food Programme (WFP) and supervised by the Palestinian Ministry of Agriculture.

During the signing ceremony, Eng. Abdelnaser Dwaikat emphasized that the National Carton Industry Company is proud to package Palestinian agricultural products, considering it part of its national responsibility and its partnership with farmers and development institutions. He added:
“We take pride in our role in supporting the agricultural economy by providing high-quality carton packaging that highlights the Palestinian product in the best possible way in local and global markets.”

Dwaikat also noted that the company supplies all types of carton, including agricultural packaging, through which – with great pride – Palestinian products such as dates, avocados, and grapes are exported to international markets, thereby enhancing Palestine’s position in global supply chains.

For his part, Mr. Munjed Abu Jeish explained that the vision of the Agricultural Development Association is to enable national agricultural products to reach consumers in locally produced carton packages. This, he said, adds value to Palestinian products and supports the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals. He added that this initiative forms part of the association’s strategy to strengthen farmers’ resilience and improve their production and marketing capacities.

This agreement exemplifies a successful model of cooperation between national institutions operating in the agricultural and production sectors, serving the aspirations of local economic development and enhancing the presence of Palestinian products in regional and international markets.
